Rare China Trade oil on canvas view of the harbor and city of Valparaiso, Chile, ca. 1840, with American and European ships anchored in the bay, 23 1/2" x 36". This view was likely done in Canton from an existing print of Valparaiso. Provenance: The Collection of Captain Hall Jackson Tibbits (1797-1872), Long Island, NY.
Condition
Original frame. Surface dirt. Two small indents to bottom left. Provenance: Lots 1 to 173: The Collection of Captain Hall Jackson Tibbits (1797-1872).
