Walton, Augustus Q. A History of the Detection?or John Murel; The Great Western Land Pirate. Athens, Tennessee: George White, 1835. Later plain wraps (upper only). 8vo. 75pp. Gutter tear to title page just touching byline and through next several leaves, affecting a few lines of text; terminal leaf with large brown stain and tear with loss to one line of text. The first edition which credits Walton as the author. Howes W-76. Sabin 101209. A rare title, the Athens imprint especially so: This is only the second copy at auction in over 30 years.
