ALEXANDER, James Edward, Capt. (1803?1885). Travels from India to England?In the Years 1825?26. London: [J. L. Cox] for Parbury, Allen, and Co., 1827. 4to (286 x 222 mm). Half?title, mounted lithograph portrait frontispiece on india paper, 14 lithographs (5 hand?colored), 2 lithograph maps, woodcut vignettes, errata and advertisement leaf at rear. (Very occasional marginal browning to plate extremes). Modern half straight?grain morocco, marbled sides, spine gilt, edges uncut, several unopened (some toning to covers, renewed endpapers). FIRST EDITION, of this scarce account of Macdonald Kinneir?s embassy to Persia while Alexander was his aide?de?camp. Abbey, Travel 520; Tooley 17.
