[ALLEN PRESS]. DUCHOW, John Charles (1830?1901). The Duchow Journal: A Voyage from Boston to California 1852. Fairfax, CA: Mallette Dean [at The Allen Press], 1959. 4to. Hand?colored illustrations by Mallette Dean. Publisher?s cloth?backed decorative boards, printed spine label, edges uncut. Laid in with the publisher?s ?suggestion? slip. Provenance: presentation copy from the Caxton Club of Chicago (dated 1959) to Paul M. Angle, signed by all of its members on Caxton Club letter head (affixed to ffep). Angle was a noted historian and considered an authority on Abraham Lincoln. LIMITED EDITION, one of 200 unnumbered copies printed on handmade Umbria paper. Allen Press 21.
