ANDERSEN, Hans Christian. The Improvisatore; or, Life in Italy. London: Ward, Lock, and Tyler, n.d. [ca. 1878]. 12mo. Translated by Mary Howitt. Extra-illustrated with numerous mounted albumen photographs of architecture, outdoor scenes, monuments, etc. Original vellum parchment ruled in gilt and red, spine decorated and titled in gilt, all edges dyed red, marbled endpapers (boards gently soiled, light rubbing to tail, contemporary ownership signature to ffep); a tight copy.
