HOUDINI, Harry (Erik Weisz, 1874 - 1926). Annotated and Retouched Houdini Portrait Proof. Circa 1915. Large three-quarter length sepia-tone image of the master escape artist with his back against a low table, and wearing a full tuxedo and tails. Professionally retouched to darken the background behind Houdini, with crop marks bounding the likeness. On a stiff card, approximately 9 3/4 x 6 3/4". ANNOTATED IN HOUDINI'S HAND: "Have this proof toned" and with other annotations possibly in his hand scratched out. An unusual Houdini relic.
