[ARCTIC]. PEARY, Robert E. (1856?1920). Northward Over the ?Great Ice?. London: Methuen & Co., 1898. 2 volumes, 8vo. Numerous illustrations from photographs and maps, foldout. Original publisher?s gilt?lettered pictorial blue cloth stamped in silver foil, top edge gilt, others uncut (few tiny spots of light wear to extremities, else fine). FIRST EDITION of Peary?s reconnaissance of the Greenland inland ice in 1886 and an account of the North Greenland Expedition of 1891?92. Arctic Bibliography 13231.
