[ARMLESS PERFORMER] Nakamura. JAPANESE ARMLESS PERFORMER POSTER. Circa 1900. Pictorial broadsheet advertising the performance of a limb-deficient boy with the surname Nakamura, performing a variety of feats with his feet and other appendages, including writing with his nose and forehead (sometimes holding the paintbrush in a purpose-made headband); a host of juggling and balancing tricks; drumming, constructing wooden barrels, firing a bow and arrow, and performing conjuring tricks, among other miraculous feats. His manager?s name, Chozo Takezawa, appears in the margin. 13 1/8 x 18 3/4?. Spotted, several tiny losses, old folds.
