- Lot Description
[AUTOGRAPHS & CORRESPONDENCE] File of Letters Written and Signed by Famous Magicians. Dating to 1929 and written to magician John Lippy, included are letters from Thomas Worthington, Baffles Brush, Servais LeRoy, Kolar, Earle Heyl, Cyril Yettmah, Lionel Hamburger (and other members of either the Demons Club or Society of Osiris), Stewart James, Isaac Twamley, Frank Keller (nephew of Harry Kellar), Al Saal, Floyd Thayer, and others. Including TLSs and ALSs, several on elaborately printed sheets. Most messages deal with magical memorabilia Lippy is requesting of the magician, or material for the book he would eventually write about chemical magic. Offered together with several blank applications for membership in the Society of Osiris, a few blank letterheads, and miscellaneous cards and advertising items. Primarily single sheets with original mailing folds, and in very good to near fine condition; well kept. A very good group with several uncommon letterheads and signatures.
