Original International Film Service Action Photo of 1916 World Series Second Game, with Hy Myers of the Brooklyn Dodgers Hitting, and Pinch Thomas of the Boston Red Sox Catching, Off a Pitch by Red Sox Pitcher, Babe Ruth, PSA Type I Authentic. [International Film Service, ca. 1916]. Original black and white photo (6 ? x 8 ??), with number (in plate?) ?45557? on front, and with typed caption affixed to verso and with inkstamp on verso. Minor toning, some faint creasing, rubbing, caption worn. Excellent. ?BOSTON RED SOX TAKE GAME OF SERIES AFTER 14 INNINGS. MYERS of Brooklyn starting on his home run one of the outstanding features of the second game of the world series which was won by Boston 2 to 1.? Henry Harrison ?Hy? Myers was a center fielder for various teams, including the Brooklyn Dodgers, St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds. Chester David ?Pinch? Thomas was a catcher for the Boston Red Sox and the Cleveland Indians. Unseen in this photo was baseball legend Babe Ruth, who pitched this ball that was hit by Myers for a home run.
