[BASEBALL]. RUTH, George Herman ?Babe? (1895-1948). Original Christy Walsh Syndicate Photo of Babe Ruth with ?Casey Cubs? Youth Baseball Team, PSA Type I Authentic. [New York: Christy Walsh Syndicate, ca. 1926]. Original black and white photo (8 x 10?) with pencil notation on verso: ??Casey Cubs? Orphan Team Meet Babe on Arrival Minneapolis? and with Christy Walsh Syndicate inkstamp, also on verso. Photo slightly toned, rubbed, a few occasional mild creases, with ?Minnesota Journal Photo? embossed stamp at lower right corner. A wonderful photo of happy and excited young boys in uniform (one boy is African-American) meeting their hero. Babe Ruth is arguably the most famous baseball player of all time. Nicknamed ?The Bambino? and ?The Sultan of Swat?, he is one of the greatest batters in MLB history, and won numerous awards and honors. He was one of the first five inductees of the Baseball Hall of Fame. He played for the Boston Red Sox, New York Yankees, and Boston Braves, and was a coach for the Brooklyn Dodgers.
