[BASEBALL]. Strobridge Litho. Co. baseball poster. Cincinnati & New York, 1905. Color stone lithograph poster depicts a batter in striped red and white uniform awaiting a pitch, opposing team?s catcher in light blue, with players in the dugout and the stadium stands filled with fans. Size 28 ? x 19 3/8? (sheet); 22 7/8 x 17? (image). Linen backed. Tear from upper edge extending into upper image with slight paper loss; corner chipped at upper left not affecting image; handful of closed tears and nicks at edges generally outside image. B+/B. While the poster is untitled, this image represents a professional baseball team, unquestionably modeled after Strobridge?s hometown Cincinnati Reds and its ?Palace of the Fans? stadium. An early and rare baseball lithograph.
