BEARD, George Miller (1839-1883). The Psychology of the Salem Witchcraft Excitement of 1692. New York: G.P. Putnam?s Sons, 1882. 8vo. Publisher?s soft brown cloth with titles gilt stamped (rubbing); floral endpapers. FIRST EDITION. One of the first books ever printed to discuss the Salem witchcraft hysteria from a purely psychological standpoint. Provenance: ?Dr. Bishop? (signature). A very nice copy.
