BENEVOL (Luigi Maria Benevolo). Le Coupeur de T?tes. Paris: Tournees Benevol, ca. 1910s. Ghastly full-color lithograph depicts the signature illusion of the Italian magician Benevol, who found his greatest fame in France. On stage, he presented a fake medieval beheading at the hands of an executioner in a menacing costume wielding an equally menacing axe. 33 ? x 24?. Linen backed. Slight creases. A/A-.
