- Lot Description
[BINDING] HENRY, Matthew (1662?1714). An Exposition on the Old and New Testaments? London: Partridge and Oakey, n.d. [ca. 1847]. 3 volume set. Thick 4to. Each front fly with a gilt ?wedding present? label framed in elaborate calligraphy, dated 1849. Gift binding in period diced black calf, covers double ruled in gilt, two red morocco spine labels titled in gilt, raised bands gilt rolled, compartments elaborately tooled in gilt, all edges marbled, cover fore edges rolled in gilt, marbled endpapers (faint rubbing to spine and corners; else a handsome binding).
