[BINDINGS]. AINSWORTH, William Harrison (1805?1882). Historical Romances of? Philadelphia: George Barrie & Son, n.d. 20 volumes, 8vo. Printed on vellum throughout; frontispieces and plates printed in two states with remarques, lettered tissue guards. Contemporary half brown morocco with silk moir? sides, covers gilt?tooled with a monogram of ?PMS? inside a wreath, 2 larges compartments with one raised bands, large floral tools with leafy green morocco inlays, gilt?lettering in remainder, top edges gilt, silk moir? endpapers (a touch of rubbing at corners). LIMITED EDITION, number 439 of 1000 copies, of the ?First State, Library Edition? printed on Japanese vellum with the plates in two states.
