Numerous plates and marginal illustrations. Full plum levant framed in gilt, sprays of gilt tooled floral cornerpieces with red morocco petal inlays, raised bands, a viney plant gilt tooled in 4 compartments, top edges gilt, brown levant doublures framed in gilt and with gilt tooled cornerpieces with green morocco inlays, purple silk free endpapers, gilt stamp?signed by Monastery Hill Bindery (joints a bit rubbed, ends chipped). ?? EMERSON, Ralph Waldo. The Conduct of Life. Edinburgh: Otto Schulze & Company, n.d. [1904]. Square 8vo. Full dark plum levant, gilt paneling with cornerpieces, 6 compartments with 5 raised bands gilt, top edge gilt, gilt dentelles, green silk moir? endpapers (a few tiny spots of rubbing to joints). From ?The Lighthouse Library of Great Thinkers? series. ?? Together, 2 works in 3 volumes, each finely bound by Monastery Hill in Chicago.
