Birch, McDonald. McDonald Birch?s Man or Machine Illusion Head. Circa 1950. Composition head of a ?robot? with a hinged door in its forehead to reveal the ersatz mechanism that supposedly controls the figure?s mouth and blinks its eyes. Electrical components not tested; mouth operates similarly to a ventriloquist?s figure. Height 15 ??. In the original carrying case. Well-worn but operational. With a photograph of Birch holding the head.
