Black Americana Folk Art Figural Nutcracker. Germany, 19th century. Hand painted Black Forest wooden nutcracker elaborately carved into the shape of an African American man?s head in formal attire with a detailed mouth interior and vibrantly painted features; designed to crack almonds. Handle was designed to stand the nutcracker upright. Length 8?. Minor surface wear. Very good.
