Blooming Flower Vase. European, ca. 1900. A quantity of earth is heaped into the metal vase, and a seed is planted. The lid is clamped on, and when removed, a spray of flowers slowly grows up from within the vessel. Handsomely made from nickel-plated brass with flower ornamentation around lower rim. Clockwork mechanism concealed in base. With original key. Height 14 ??. Good working condition. Rare in this form.
