Brazilian Taparapay Ceremonial Cara Grande Mask. (Brazilian, Late 20th century). Plant fiber, reeds and feathers. These masks are worn at various ceremonies including circumcision and to insure bountiful harvest. This is a compelling example in excellent shape with vibrant color. 29 x 31 x 2". Overall good condition.
