BYRNES, Thomas (1842-1910). Professional Criminals of America. New York: Cassell & Co., (1886). 4to. Illustrated with mug-shots of bank sneaks, pickpockets, burglars, con men, swindlers, thieves, and other criminals, some of whom are women. First edition. Contemporary half brown morocco over pebbled cloth, spine stamped in gilt and blind. Some light wear to binding, toning to text, one of the tissue-guards to one of the plates of mug-shots is loose. Fine.
