CARTER, Charles (1874?1936). Carter the Great / Condemned to Death for Witchcraft. Cheats the Gallows. Cleveland: The Otis Litho. Co., ca. 1930s. Large billboard-sized color lithograph poster depicting the magician's hooded body hanging from a noose, his ghost spiriting up and away from the excited crowd. 106 x 80". Minor restoration to the edges and sheet breaks. Scattered scuffing and closed tears. Inpainting to original folds. Bright. B+.
