[CHEMISTRY AND ALCHEMY]. SCALIGERUS, Iulius Caesar. Exotericarum Exercitationum Liber XV. De Subtilitate ad Hyeronimum Cardanum. Frankfurt: Wechel, 1601. 12mo (6 ? x 4?). Illustrated with diagrams in text. Contemporary full limp vellum, ink title to spine (some wear, soiling to binding, hinges with later cloth tape repair, title-page with ink markings (one marking is so profound, it has worn a hole in the page), some foxing, thumbsoiling, wear to text. Bookplates on front endleaves. A good example of a later edition of this rare, large treatise. [Together with:] Another copy. Frankfurt: Mari, 1607. 12mo (6 ? x 4?). Illustrated with diagrams in text. Contemporary full limp vellum, ink title to spine (binding worn and soiled, hinges cracking, text dampstained, foxed). Good.
