- Lot Description
[CHICAGO]. A group of 15 books, maps, and photographs related to Chicago in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Includes: SCHAEFFER, M.B. Map of the South Park of Cook County. 1936. Eight sheets mounted in segments on linen as issued (darkening along edges, minor creases). 28 x 36?. The area from 87th St. south to Stegler Road is depicted with the names of owners of acreage therein, as well as public parks and roads, including the significantly smaller Lake Calumet. ?? 3 black and white photographs depicting a bustling downtown Chicago street ca. 1896, the Tribune Tower ca. 1940s, and The Million in Ten Weeks Banquet held at Hotel La Salle on 2 April 1917 ? and 11 books, including titles on land values, city directories, and Chicago history.
