[656] pp. Publisher's full gray cloth, front board stamped in brown, front board and spine stamped in gilt (spine a bit toned, some rubbing to binding, some offsetting to endleaves, text a bit toned). Near fine. FIRST EDITION, PRESENTATION COPY, INSCRIBED BY WYETH TO DOCTOR THOMAS JEFFERSON MURRAY ON THE FFEP.: ?To Dr. Thomas J. Murray, with the author's compliments ? as a souvenir of the St. Paul Meeting of the American Medical Association in June 1901 ? John Allen Wyeth, M. D. LL. D." Murray's bookplate is affixed to the fp. One of the most important sources of information on Forrest, written by a cavalryman (later an important doctor) who served under him. Howes W716.
