Illustrated. 492, [2, blank] pp. Publisher's full brown cloth, boards stamped in blind, front board and spine stamped in gilt, brown coated endleaves (spine a bit toned and worn, front joint with a few spots of wear, hinges starting, text with some occasional foxing or thumbsoiling). Fine. Bookplate of historian, businessman, and book collector Frederic R. Kirkland on the fp. FIRST EDITION, WITH AN ADDITIONAL PORTRAIT PLATE OF MOSBY SIGNED BY HIM, INSERTED AT FRONT. ?Although presented as a series of letters, this narrative was written after the war from memory and a few sources; gives many personal insights of Mosby and his rangers?"
