[CIVIL WAR]. Pair of First Edition Histories in the Original Dust Jackets, including: JOHNSTON, R. M. Bull Run. Its Strategies and Tactics. Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1913. 8vo. Illustrated. 293 pp. Publisher's full blue cloth, front board and spine stamped in gilt, pictorial endleaves, publisher's dust jacket (light rubbing to cloth; one tape repair to jacket verso, jacket toned, worn, chipped, soiled and torn). A fine copy in a good jacket. FIRST EDITION IN THE RARE JACKET. And: BROWN, Varina Davis. A Colonel at Gettysburg and Spotsylvania. Columbia, SC: The State Company, 1931. 8vo. Illustrated. 333 pp. Publisher's full blue cloth, spine stamped in gilt, publisher's dust jacket (cloth a bit rubbed, hinges just starting; jacket with numerous tape repairs on verso (residue visible on recto), jacket toned, worn, soiled, with several chips and tears). A fine copy in a good jacket. FIRST EDITION IN THE RARE DUST JACKET. The author wrote this biography of her father, who led troops at Gettysburg and Spotsylvania. From the renowned personal collection of Dr. George D. Lacy. Measurements: 9 x 6 x 1".
