CLARK, Johnson (1883 ? 1956). Johnson Clark. The Sportsman Ventriloquist. London: S.C. Allen & Company Ltd., ca. 1910. Color lithographed bust portrait poster modeled on a photograph by Relph & Co. of Preston, picturing the British performer?s face on a bright orange background. 30 1/8 x 20?. One short closed tear; A-. Linen backed. Clark is billed here in company with ?Hodge the Yokel,? the figure with which he traded barbs and double entendre throughout a long career, including a Royal Command Performance before British royalty.
