COLBURN, Zerah. A Memoir of Zerah Colburn. Springfield: G. And C. Merriam, 1833. Contemporary maroon cloth (sunned) with paper spine labels (rubbed). Engraved portrait frontispiece. 8vo. Foxed; good. Toole Stott 171. Colburn was one of the best-known child prodigies of his day and began his career before the public as a lightning calculator at the tender age of six, solving complex mathematical problems with incredible speed.
