- Lot Description
[COLIMA]. Ensayo estadisco sobre el territorio de Colima. Mexico: R. Rafael, 1849. Small 4to. Engraved folding map of the Territory of Colima, woodcut head? and tail?pieces. Quarter morocco over marbled boards gilt (covers a bit rubbed, some spotting to blanks, few old textual corrections in manuscript). FIRST EDITION of this early Mexican imprint published eight years before Colima became admitted into the federation of the United Mexican States. Only appearing once at auction (in 1949) with no other copies found on the market. Sabin 14354.
