COMENIUS, Johann Amos (Czech, 1592-1670). Orbis Sensualium Picti. Nuremberg: 1745. 8vo. Restored contemporary calf binding. Contemporary inscriptions on inner front board. The first widely used children?s textbook ever printed. Browning to text. Trilingual edition with parallel Latin, German, and Hungarian text. Approximately 300 text woodcuts, including a unique woodcut depicting an early version of tennis. Front hinge partially cracked. ?Coelum? with moving parts on pg. 10 missing, as is the case with most editions. Rare.
