HERRMANN, Compars (1816 - 1887). Compars Herrmann's Coin or Changing Tray. Circa 1850. A round wooden tray with Japanese lacquered design concealing a secret compartment in its base that allows the magician to clandestinely add cards, billets, or coins to a pile on top of the tray. Diameter 7". A RARE relic from this august member of the Herrmann family, with a letter of provenance tracing its ownership.
Small chips, cracking, and wear; in very good working condition.
LOA traces the ownership from Herrmann to the Herrmann Family, George Pfisterer, Milbourne Christopher, and two subsequent owners.
