COPPERFIELD, David (b. 1956). The Statue of Liberty Disappears. The Illusion of the Century. [Circa 1983]. Full-color poster. 35 x 24?. Rolled. Some creasing, rubbing. SIGNED BY COPPERFIELD, AND NUMBERED (119A). Very good. The best-known magician since Harry Houdini, Copperfield has consistently performed seemingly impossible illusions, but perhaps his most famous is the vanish (and reappearance) of the Statue of Liberty, produced for his television special in 1983. Copperfield holds several world records, and is the most successful magician in history (Forbes, 2006).
