Countertop Display Case with Unusual Security Device on Rear Drawer. [Ca. 1920s-1940s.] Wooden display case with 3 glass-fronted sides and top, including spring-loaded hinged rear door; beneath rear door is a pull-out drawer with special 4-finger spring-loaded braces to prevent opening from the front, thus discouraging theft. Red velvet interior display surface. 20 x 20 x 13". Some wear, soiling, chipped area at rear left on base, red velvet covering a bit loose. An unusual display.
