CRAVEN, Elizabeth, Lady (1750?1828). A Journey Through the Crimea to Constantinople. London: printed for G.G.J. and J. Robinson, 1789. 4to (267 x 216 mm). Half?title, folding map frontispiece, 5 (of 6) engraved plates including one folding (some marginal browning, offsetting to text). Modern half crushed levant antique, early marbled sides, raised bands, spine gilt. Provenance: Joseph Hill (contemporary signature on half?title). FIRST EDITION, a firsthand account of Lady Craven?s travels through France, Austria, Poland, Russia, Turkey and Greece, written in the form of letters addressed from Lady Craven to her future husband, the Margrave of Ansbach.
