Illustrated throughout with hand-colored woodcuts and with hand coloring on wrappers. 21, [3, ads] pp. Publisher?s printed wrappers (wrappers worn, marginal tears and chips, wrappers loose, text pages worn, toned, loose). Fair. FIRST EDITION OF THIS ABC BOOK, WITH CHARMING HAND-COLORED WOODCUTS. ?Elspa? was the nickname for Crawhall?s daughter, Elspeth. Crawhall himself is featured under the letter ?R? entry, being chased by a queen with a rolling pin.
