[CRIME]. BOOTH, Ernest. Stealing Through Life. New York: Alfred Knopf, 1929. Publisher's purple cloth, stamped in gilt; original clipped dust-jacket. 8vo. 308pp., [1]. Suvak 26.
FIRST EDITION in scarce dust-jacket of the autobiography of Booth, a career criminal specializing in robbery and burglary who escaped San Quentin, was recaptured "after a number of escapes and arrests," and eventually sentenced to life at Folsom. He again attempted an escape which broke both of his legs, and then penned these memoirs.
Condition
Front hinge weak; top edge dusty. Scattered small losses, tears, and punctures to jacket at folds and ends.
