[CRUIKSHANK, George (1792-1878), illustrator]. HONE, William (1780-1842). The Political House that Jack Built. London: William Hone, 1819. 8vo. Illustrated throughout with 13 woodcuts. [24] pp. Bound in contemporary string-bound (later string binding) marbled paper wrappers, contemporary ink title on label on front wrapper (wrappers toned, worn, soiled, text toned, foxed, soiled). Good. SECOND EDITION. Cruikshank is uncredited. This satirical collection of poems, in the form of nursery rhymes, lampoons the church, the monarchy, lawyers, and the army.
