D. Harper ?Penny Animated Photographs / Living Pictures? Countertop Stereoviewer with Bathing Beauty Stereoscopic Cards. London: D. Harper & Co., n.d., ca. 19th century. Stereoscopic viewer with 2 glass eyepieces, coin slot, and plunger on front, front panel is a hinged door with key lock (key is present), metal carrying handles on sides, a glass panel on top (as a light source), and a small wooden panel with screws (3 of 4) on back. On front is a display card, ?Animated Photographs Living Pictures Drop Penny in the Slot? beneath a glass window. 11 ? x 13 x 17?. With nearly 15 stereoscopic cards of bathing beauties in the interior mechanism Some wear, several holes, cracking, occasional soiling. Untested (item requires a British penny to work).
