DANA, Richard Henry (1815?1882). Two Years Before the Mast. Boston and New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1923. 8vo. Numerous illustrations in color by E. Boyd Smith. Original blue cloth with pictorial cover label (spine darkened). CUT SIGNATURE FROM RICHARD HENRY DANA affixed to front free endpaper verso with a tipped?in ALS (dated 31 July 1925) from his son (editor and author of the introduction) detailing this mounted autograph as being ?written in 1872 while his father was alive so it has the ?Jr.??. With an additional inscription from the son below his father?s cut signature.
