DAVIES, William Henry (1871-1940). The Soul?s Destroyer and Other Poems. Self-published [1905]. 8vo. Original wrappers (covers detached, tape repairs, chipping). Pencil proof corrections throughout, presumably in author?s or editor?s hand. Preserved in custom box (soiling). INCLUDES LETTER FROM R.B. BYLES OF ALSTON RIVERS PUBLISHING DATED 16 JUNE 1906 IN REFERENCE TO ALSTON UNDERTAKING FIRST PRINTING OF THE SOUL?S DESTROYER. The 1907 Alston Rivers printing of The Soul?s Destroyer included only fourteen of the poems included in the 1905 self-published edition. Provenance: Laurence Hockey (inscription on front free endpaper).
