Condition
Spine and board-edges sunned and worn, binding soiled, corners bumped, hinges starting, endleaves and text toned, foxed, with occasional thumbsoiling, owner's signature on fp. Good. THIRD AMERICAN EDITION OF DE TOCQUEVILLE'S IMPORTANT WORK ON HOW DEMOCRACY WILL SUCCEED IN AMERICA, WHERE IT FAILED ELSEWHERE. De Tocqueville was critical of the state of the arts in America and some other aspects of American life, making this a balanced view of American life, enumerating both the good and bad.
