DICKENS, Charles (1812?1870). Bleak House. London: Bradbury and Evans, 1853. 8vo. Half?title, engraved additional title?page, engraved frontispiece, 38 illustrations by J.K. Browne (?Phiz?), with the 10 ?dark? plates (marginal browning to plates, offsetting from frontispiece). Modern quarter brown morocco, marbled sides, raised bands, compartments gilt. Provenance: F.W. Barlow (neat contemporary signature on title?page); Old Curiosity Shop purchase label laid in. FIRST EDITION IN BOOK FORM published on 12 September 1853. Eckel, pp. 64?66; Gimbel A154; Smith I:10.
