DICKENS, Charles (1812-1870). Great Expectations. In Three Volumes? Fifth Edition. London: Chapman and Hall, 1861. 8vos. [iv], [1]-344; [ii], [1]-[352]; [ii], [1]-344 pp. 3 volumes. Approximately 7 ? x 4 ??. No illustrations, as issued. Bound in nineteenth century full olive green calf, boards double ruled, floral gilt cornerpieces, spines ruled and tooled in gilt in compartments, five raised bands, two brown gilt morocco lettering labels, gilt board edges and turn-ins, patterned cloth endleaves (spines sunned to brown, spines and board edges somewhat worn, some chipping to labels, some occasional foxing or faint soiling in text). Very good. FIRST BOOK EDITION, FIFTH ISSUE (with ?Fifth Edition? on all title-pages, as issued). Smith, I, p. 100-104.
