[DICKENS, Charles (1812?1870)]. Player?s Cigarettes cards depicting various characters from Charles Dickens novels. Nottingham, UK: John Player & Sons, 1923. A group of 18 full?color cigarette cards depicting Mark Tapley, Uriah Heep, Mr. Chuckster, Dumkins, and others. Framed, 22 ? x 18 ??. John Player & Sons were one of the first companies to package cigarette cards with their products, with those depicting literary characters among their most collected.
