DIXON, Joseph Kossuth, photographer (1858?1926). The Vanishing Race: The Last Great Indian Council. Garden City: Doubleday, Page & Company, 1914. Royal 8vo. 80 sepia photogravures including frontispiece after photographs by Dixon. Publisher?s pictorial brown cloth stamped in white, black and gilt, top edge gilt (spine a bit darkened, some spotting to lower cover, front hinge tender). Second revised edition of a record of the last great Indian Council with stories of their lives, folklore tales, and speeches as told by themselves with photogravures that rivaled Edward S. Curtis in preserving Native American life.
