- Lot Description
[DOYLE, Arthur Conan (1859-1930)]. Cabinet card photograph. New York City: Sarony, 1894. 168 x 111 mm. Three-quarter length portrait of young Doyle in long coat holding a top hat. (Old paper clip marking to upper image, some light toning to lower margin and verso, few stains and marring also to verso near lower edge). The photo was used by Major J.B. Pond in his book ?Eccentricities of Genius? (New York: G.W. Dillingham Co., 1900) with a dedicated section to Doyle on pp. 501-509.
