Ebony and Ivory Mechanical Ball Vase. Lake Forest: John McKinven, ca. 1995. A red ball vanishes and reappears inside a small wooden vase. Finial with spring-loaded plunger gimmick. Finial and base accent crafted from turned ivory; body finely turned from ebony. Height 5 1/2”; ball diameter 1 ¼”. Hallmarked. One of perhaps two or three made by McKinven.
