ERDNASE, S.W (pseudo.). The Expert at the Card Table. [Chicago]: Author, (1902). FIRST EDITION. Publisher’s green cloth stamped gilt with acorn device to front board. Illustrated with over 100 drawings “from life” by Marshall D. Smith. 8vo. Cloth a bit dark on spine, minor spots of soiling and rubbing, tiny puncture to front joint, faint bump to upper right corner, endpapers expertly renewed, binding very square and tight. A very attractive example of the first edition of this influential “bible” of card table artifice that remains the gold standard of the genre over 100 years after its first publication.
